The Blue House, a Queen Anne dwelling that predates the Prairie Style, stands as the eldest on its block in Oak Park's Ridgeland Historic District. Born in 1886, it has carried the stories of generations, its walls marked by the passage of time. At the street, Victorian details—trim, balusters, doors, and brackets—are preserved and revived, a nod to its historic grace. To the rear, a new addition unfolds, opening the first and second floors to the rhythms of modern life. Within, a soaring geometric cathedral ceiling draws light through fresh skylights, casting shifting patterns that invite new rituals and gatherings to take root in an old home, reborn.
BERWYN BUNGALOW
Develop / Design / Build (Sold 2024)
In the heart of Berwyn, we reimagined a 1923 brick bungalow into a cozy, contemporary home tailored to modern family living. The transformation centers on a craft-inspired tiled fireplace set before a new living room stair, blending elements of Art Deco with the warmth of the Arts and Crafts movement. A refined and tightened floor plan introduces both efficiency and comfort, maximizing every square foot of the 2,300 SF home while preserving its historic character and adding a distinct architectural identity.
